How it works

When you report an odor, we check it against the live wind at the Nestlé Purina plant (4555 York St.). If the wind is carrying the plant's plume toward you, your report is wind-verified — mathematically tying the smell to the source.

Every report counts, wind or not. Verified reports build a legally actionable record. The legal lever: as a pet-food manufacturer, Purina is already required to operate under a city-mandated odor control plan — and when 5 separate Denver households file verified complaints within 30 days, Denver's odor ordinance (D.R.M.C. §4-10) requires that plan to be reviewed and revised. Wind-verification is your corroborating evidence — not the trigger itself.

The plant has been cited by city and state health regulators repeatedly since 2021, and it still smells. Every verified 5-in-30 window is on-the-record proof the current plan isn't working — that record is what keeps enforcement escalating.
